Who We Are

Double Diamond Detailing Supplies is a veteran-owned company founded by Rick Flores—Senior Chief Petty Officer, US Navy (Ret.)—and his son Mark Flores.

After 20 years of military service and 30+ years in the detailing products industry, Rick opened First Detail Supply in Omaha, Nebraska in 2018. Mark officially joined the operation in 2019, learning every aspect of the products and business.

As the automotive reconditioning market evolved and ceramic coatings went mainstream, they saw an opportunity to create something special.

With our main focus being a ceramic line of products, we decided to sell First Detail Supply. This led us to establish Double Diamond in 2023.

At present, we have 12 ceramic related products.

The Foundation: U.S. Navy

In 1973, Rick Flores enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the tail end of the Vietnam War. Over the next 20 years, he served on three U.S. Navy ships with deployments to the Asian Pacific and the Indian Ocean and served two years at a remote navy base in Australia.

The military teaches lessons that stay with you:

Good order and Discipline. Hold yourself to a higher standard. Promote integrity and trust.

In August 1993, Rick retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Those values didn't retire with him.

The Education: 30+ Years, Every Role

Most people in this industry know one side—manufacturing, or distribution, or retail. Rick learned them all.

1993–2002

Manufacturing & Distribution

That same month Rick retired from the Navy, he was hired at Production Chemical Manufacturing—a manufacturer of detailing and body shop products.

As Director of Distributor Recruitment and Private Label, Rick built a coast-to-coast distributor network. He learned how products are manufactured. How formulations work. How distribution networks are built. What makes a product successful beyond the bottle.

2002–2013

Supply & Retail

Norcal Automotive and Janitorial Supply, Lodi, California

Owner/Operator

In March 2002, Rick opened Norcal Automotive and Janitorial Supply with the main focus on detail, auto body, and janitorial products in Lodi, California, servicing customers in the Central Valley extending to the L.A. Basin.

Now he wasn't just building distribution networks. He was the distributor. Face-to-face with shop owners daily. Hearing what they needed. Seeing what products worked—and which ones didn't live up to the marketing.

General Manager

In January 2013, Rick became General Manager of Nanoskin Products. Under his leadership, the company grew from a little-known entity to a widely recognized manufacturer of the Auto Scrub Pad.

Building the Operation: First Detail Supply

In September 2018, Rick resigned from Nanoskin Products and moved to Omaha, Nebraska to start his biggest endeavor yet.

October 2018: First Detail Supply opened.

A 2,000-square-foot retail store consisting of auto body shop supplies, detail supplies and two paint-line mixing banks. He also had a 4,000-square-foot training center where training was offered for ceramic coating application and paint correction. Also in this facility, window tint and PPF installation was available to the public. In an additional 2,000-square-foot space, First Detail offered undercoating and spray on bedliners. This facility was not just a supply store but a complete automotive experience.

In 2019, Rick's son Mark officially joined the operation. Over the next four years, Mark learned everything inside and out—product knowledge, customer relationships, installation techniques, and business operations.

Today, Mark helps run the operation alongside Rick, bringing a new generation's perspective to a brand built on years of experience.

In 2023, the decision was made to sell First Detail Supply which led to establishing Double Diamond.

The Culmination: Double Diamond

By 2023, Rick and Mark had built a successful operation at First Detail Supply. But the automotive reconditioning market was evolving rapidly, and they saw an opportunity to create something different.

Ceramic coatings were going mainstream. Professional-grade products were being commercialized. But there was a gap.

Education was missing. Ceramic coatings were being sold with hype, not understanding. Professionals needed guidance, not just marketing claims.

Veteran values were absent. Over 50 years in the industry—20 in the Navy and 30+ in detailing products—Rick had always been a veteran. But he'd never built a brand that put those values at the forefront.

In 2023, Double Diamond Detailing Supplies was founded.

Veteran-owned and veteran-led. Built on years of experience. Committed to professional education and quality products.

Not another detailing brand. A culmination of half a century of knowledge, service, and precision.
